I have WLED setup with Hyperion on my TV and it works great, what i would like is for a way to get WLED to react just to audio as well when listening to music.
I mostly use Youtube Music or Spotify and cast it to my soundbar, since all of this is already setup in HA.
Anyway to get HA to tell WLED to react to what is being casted to the soundbar?
Not looking to add a mic to WLED.
I would say no then.
If you don’t have a mic then there is no way it knows what is playing.
The other method of trying to “read” the song from a file somehow means you need a lot of memory on the ESP to house the software to do this, which there is not.
Suggest you ask on the wled forum.
LedFX is an app you can run on say a raspberry pi… you can use a mic to pic up the sound. LedFX will then control your WLED lights assuming its all on the same network.
LedFX also integrates with home assistant so you can control when it does and does not operate your WLEDs in automations
I “think” it works via the host PC’s sound system too so perhaps no mic needed
