Spotify through raspberry pi to speaker system

Really struggling with this. I want to play Spotify on my tablet which sets the output to my hass.io Pi, and then plays to my surround system. I’ve had no luck at all after many days attempting to do it. Wondering if it’s even possible?

I’ve tried two ways, first by using a HDMI cable from the Pi to the surround system, I’ve tried to use the CEC scanner however it gives an error “autodetect FAILED”. My surround system supports CEC (has anynet+ shown) so not sure what the go is.

Second way using bluetooth from the surround system to the Pi, the bluetooth tracker shows the entity of my surround system but I cannot get Spotify to output it to that.

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Have a look at volumio for the play back. Then just figure out if you can integrate with hone assistant.

I see you are new here, welcome to the forum.

You’ll have to tell us a bit more about your setup. Did you set up your spotify integration like here? https://www.home-assistant.io/components/spotify/

I second this, but you may need a dedicated Pi for Volumio.
