I had a third user report the “action requires responses” error, and gave him these instructions to try and resolve. He followed the instructions, and was able to resolve the issue - the problem was caused by the Popup view integration. I am not sure if that was in your list of installed cards or not, but thought I would mention it.
These instructions are more detailed than what I outlined above. Give them a try and see if it helps.
In the case of the Popup View integration, it looks like it was intercepting ANY service calls made and checking for the popup_view domain (see code below). If not, then it would just call the original service using originalCallService.call(this._hass, domain, service, data, target) - note the omission of the return_response argument!
This is concerning, as it could be an integration that is causing this instead of a managed resource! Note that the Popup view integration has an embedded javascript component, which is actually overriding ANY calls made to the hass.callService() method!
Popup View source code
interceptServiceCalls() {
const originalCallService = this._hass?.callService;
if (originalCallService && !this._intercepted) {
this._intercepted = true;
this._hass.callService = (domain, service, data, target) => {
if (domain === 'popup_view' && service === 'open') {
data = { ...data, _session_id: this.sessionId };
}
return originalCallService.call(this._hass, domain, service, data, target);
};
}
}
