People on other forum complained that Nordpool custom component integration was sometimes unreliable and and that for some it has been too complicated to install. A hobbyist has implemented an alternative API in order to serve price information for Finland (https://api.spot-hinta.fi).
I decided to try to implement semi-simple “package” (not a custom component) to allow data loading from this API and some basic sensors and binary sensors for automation in order to help basically anyone to start their energy related automation journey. Use cases include for example “give me start time of the cheapest consecutive n hours” or binary sensor for the cheapest n hours or when price is below certain level.
