Spruce Soil Moisture Sensor Gen 3 unable to join to ZHA with ConbeeII

Found this device on Blakadder’s ZHA compatible list

So ordered one through Amazon, it arrived today but cannot get it to join the network.

Have tried all my tricks but can’t get it to happen.

Anybody got one of these and successfully added it to ZHA?

Fixed! The Sensor does not support Zigbee Channel 26.

What does that mean? I’m also searching for a sensor of this type. I have zero experience with zigbee. Will this device work with home assistant and can I get all the sensor data from it?

Yes but recommendation is to not change Zigbee channel from default when forming a Zigbee network.

Just leave ZHA with default channel, (ZHA prefers to use Zigbee channel 15 by default).

Did you get it to read the sensor? I got it to connect but there are no sensors listed.

I did but the water content shows up as humidity and it changes wildly with no viable reasonn

FYI, support for Water Content Measurement clusters “Soil Moisture” and “Leaf Wetness” was added not so long ago so maybe update ZHA Device Handlers quirks to use “Soil Moisture” instead of Humidity?

It’s been pretty ordinary for me.

An update on these - I find them incredibly finicky so be warned. I think the battery needed is a CR123A not CR123 as reported on their website but the battery dosent report and getting them to pair is a hideous experience.

Resurrecting this. I’m trying to find this sensor for purchase from the US, but the links on Spruce’s website point to a broken amazon link, and I don’t seem to be able to find this anywhere. Does anyone know where I can purchase this? Willing to give it a try on my SkyConnect ZHA network. Thanks
