I couldn’t find much information about this device so I figured I’d start a discussion thread for it starting with some initial info from my brief time with it.

Overall this plug seems like a solid option to add energy monitoring at the outlet level. The power reporting is almost instant which is useful for triggering automatons based on power draw. The power reporting doesn’t seem to “chatty” either. After initially powering a device it doesn’t seem to report another level until until a significant change in watts. I don’t currently have a way to test what the reporting threshold is. I would prefer if there was an option to set the threshold for reporting like some other devices have.
The energy monitoring seems to be accurate when testing with a pigtail plugged into a Kill-a-Watt monitor. Both outlets contribute to the energy readings. The outlet itself draws about 0.7w with no additional load.
I was able to find these for under $20 USD on Amazon and at that price I don’t think there is a cheaper option from a reputable manufacturer to get energy monitoring to all your devices.
EDIT
While looking into this device further I found a thread reporting that the energy monitoring only works while the ON/OFF switch is ON meaning that if you had a device plugged into the always on outlet and switched the controlled outlet off you would no longer get energy reporting. I confirmed this behavior which is a bit of a bummer for an otherwise solid device.
