Also facing this issue (HA OS 14.1, Core 2025.1). Process seems to run fine, just to find out the location of the data disk has not changed. The data is copied to the SSD however, because moving it to another USB port shows a warning about multiple data disks detected.
Both USB 2 and USB 3 ports having the same issue.
Would be nice to have an alternative, workaround or solution for this, as I keep replacing SD cards every few months.
/Update: replacing the old (Crucial 64Gb) SSD with a new one (Kingston A400 240Gb) solved the issue for me!
