SSID broadcasted by Sonoff with Tasmota 6.4.1

Hello,

As a heads up only:

I noticed different behaviors on sonoffs running the basic vs classic version of Tasmota 6.4.1. I didn’t find anything on the documentation or in other posts, so here it goes.

Sonoffs flashed with sonoff-basic-6.4.1.bin, upon power up and 4 short clicks correctly start wifi manager providing an SSID named sonoff-NNNN with DHCP and web-ui at 192.168.4.1. From there configuring is a breeze. Some examples are:

Sonoffs flashed with Sonoff-classic-6.4.1.bin upon power up already start with an access point at 192.168.4.1 but the connection is very unstable and there is no web ui. The SSID is in the format ESP_NNNNNN as can be seen below:

As there’n no web ui I connected via serial to check what could be going on, and I could see one reset every 4 secs:

If I’m able to type SSID and PASSWORD commands fast enough between two resets I can get it to work. At that point the web server becomes active.

Am I doing something wrong with the classic version of the binary?

If this is discussed/solve somewhere else please forgive me. I’ve been in this world for a few weeks only.

Thanks
