Ssl certificate is untrusted

upgraded to the much anticipated Home Assistant Companion for iOS 2.0 dropped today, and it does not work at all. finds my home assistant instance (matches ip address and port of what my browser and previous iOS version has been using forever) after scanning, i click on the address, and get this message…

btw, i am using duck dns.

That’s because the certificate is not for the ip address it is for the duckdns address.

Try adding your duckdns address manually if it does not find it (including the port if not using 443).

so i turned off my wifi on my iPhone, used the duckdns external address and it connected and even works when i turn my wifi back on because of the internal setting that was set automatically in the setup process and verified under app configuration / Connection / Details / Internal URL. that is grayed out and can’t be changed, and it shows connected via external URL, even when wifi is turned back on, even after restarting the app, which doesn’t seem good.

another new problem is in the previous app, i would have to update my location for the icon on my home screen to show that i was home and not away. i don’t see a way to update my location, and i am indeed home right now and my hassio home screen says i’m away. under app configuration / Location / Location it shows i am in the center of my location boundary, but it still shows me away.

If your router has hairpinning you won’t actually be using the external url. Your router will redirect you to the local address. It’s fine.

Have you given permission for the app to always use your location in your phone’s privacy settings?

Under the HA app settings / location which updates sources do you have enabled?

You can perform a manual location update by pulling down on the app screen.

figured it out. my device tracker name had changed so i had to update the name in the raw config to the name showing under home assistant / configuration / persons. shows me home now :grinning:
