SSL Certificate not trusted on iPhone app

Hi All,

I know this may be an iPhone issue, but maybe someone of you had the same issue.

I have a PKI in my homelab and issued a certificate for my HA Supervised installation. The certificate is working fine on any browser on a Windows / Mac and as i trusted the root and intermediate CA certificate, i don’t get any “unsafe messaged” from my browser.

I’m also using the mobile app on iPhone and also installed the full certificate chain as a configuration profile on the iPhone.

Unfortunately, i can’t use my HA on the app anymore. It tells me that its not trusting the server as the certificate is invalid.

As the URL I tried the FQDN, just the hostname or the IP (also set in the SAN).

Does anybody had the same issues and maybe a solution?

Thank you in advance

What’s the date ofnthe cert is it invalid?
Logout and log back in?

Just a recommendation but domain names are under $10usd or maybe available free(not sure). If you had a domain you could get caddy or certbot to auto generate letsencrypt certs and have never need to deal with this or manually install certs on devices again

EDIT
Caddy and certbot do NOT require open ports on router. Something I found out only recently

Hi,

cert is valid until 2027.
I have a top level domain, which i used for my home network.
As i said, all other devices are working properly.
Just in my iPhone it tells me that the cert is invalid.

I tried to delete the server and readd it. Same behavior.

Edit: i had to adjust the trust settings in Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings - for the installed certificate on the iphone.
