This is expected because stack-in-card is a card, so it has a box-shadow wherever it’s positioned.
If you want to remove stack-in-card’s box-shadow on itself, you’ll have to use card-mod

It works more or less now, everything is nicely in one card view but the style in the header does not work anymore, the idea is that this is blue when alarm is off, red when alarm is on.

Since HP Printer component does not work me (it requires some specific .xml file to be exposed by printer) I created set of SNMP sensor specific to my printer (well, perhaps to more than CP1515n, since these should be somehow standard across HP lineup). Whole setup is documented here:

Since very nice HP Printer component available as HACS integration works only with devices exposing their status via shared .xml files (which is case for only selected models), I started investigation on how HP laser printers can be monitored from home assistant. is not so easy to understand as a novice and non developer

well, you need to learn something. it shows you the problem and some info about your card:

• content required for a card with - entity: light.lamp_1_bureau etc.

look at it - it’s a markdown card, but you don’t use content, you use entities instead.
you need something like you do in your first card.
and what that state_filter: is doing at the end? it is not allowed in markdown cards.

coming back to your original issue - it would be great if you could describe your goal/problem clearly when asking because your code is messed up and I can only guess…

So it works slightly different that vertical-stack-in-card, that was removing borders to all children, regardless level of nesting. Here it seems not be able to remove border its own instance nested within… or again I’m doing something wrong

I think I found what I was doing wrong!
My bar charts with toner levels were part of entities card, that then was embedded within stack-in card. So it was entities card that was preserving border, not the stack-in-card! After moving bar-card outside of entities card, directly to stack-in-card, unwanted borders dissapeared!
This is causing another small issue, with spacing (space between entities card and bar card gets enlarged, not looking as I would wish Perhaps this is something to look at (though not sure if possible, this might be result of individual cards borders accumulating - space between divider and title of bar-card on screenshot below)?

I think you can inspect what’s inside your card and what causes that gap to be bigger than you expected.
As a viable option you can always tweak your resulting gard with card-mod (at least it will be quicker than to wait for a new release )

Regarding card-mod… well, I hate somehow CSS and modding, adding aditional components to my HA only if absolutely necessary so I’m trying to avoid this type of modifications as long as possible Maybe it’s time to change my mind

I am sorry to hear it wasn’t working for you, I do have a CP1525nw and it was working perfectly but now that I went to check it it seems not to be working again, so I’ll have to take a look into that too
