Standing pilot monitor

Looking for ideas. I have a boiler with a standing pilot. I just tonight had to replace the thermocouple. Has anyone seen a way to monitor the pilot so it alerts when it is out. Changing to electronic ignition isn’t an option. Any ideas welcome. Happy New Year!

ESPHome with a second thermocouple (probably could use the one the boiler uses too, but with these types of things I always error on the side of keeping it independent of the existing device).

If you’re not familiar with ESPHome, this probably wouldn’t be a bad first project too since it’s pretty simple.

I a somewhat familiar with ESPHome. I never considered a second thermocouple, I go in search of one.
