I just started with Home assistant and i already connected my P1 power meter.
Also 2 shelly’s.
Now i want to connect for the first time my ESP32 board. It has a RS485 board connected and my solar inverter is connected to the RS485 pcb.
When i install esphome and i connect the ESP32 board, nothing happens. He does not discover the ESP32.
What do i do wrong?
Can somebody tell me step by step how to configure please?
Did you already flash ESpHome to the ESP device and then just need to get it into HA?
If so it should be auto discovered, if it is in the se network and had the API: section in its YAML config.
If not, then you should be ble to add the ESPHome in the integration page and then enter its IP address (make sure that it is either statically programmes in the YAML or reserved in the DHCP then).
I don’t know how to flash, i’m busy to watch several movies and google solutions but no.
I installed the esphome add onn, connect usb cable with esp32 board and than?
The ch340 driver is already installed.
I can’t setup wifi to receive an ip adress.
I’m really starting from zero. And for the moment i prefer burning the esp32 instead of configuring him. grrrrr.
I don’t think I can explain it any better than what is already on the website. Have you connected it to your PC with a cable that supports data, not only power?
After more than 3 hours, the esp32 is installed and home assistant discovered the device.
The esp also has an ip adres. Is it normal youy can’t connect to it? It doesn’t has a webinterface?
I can go to addonns → esphome but than there’s no visit button on the esp32, only edit and logs.
I restarted with the “prepare for first use”. It was successfully installed but than if you click close, it should ask you for wifi connection but he gives me next window:
