So I am looking for a cheap method of getting some motion sensor video streams …. To keep an eye on my chickens and also a small mouse I am trying to find where it lives. One option that popped up are the ring doorbells ? Battery operated, night vision and motion sensors …. And you can pick them up for £20 on eBay ? Any ideas ? The Blink door cameras are also in budget.
you are almost certainly better off with an IP camera. They aren’t expensive. But the challenge you are going to have is getting the right sensitivity. If the camera is far away such that the mouse is a few pixels, it may not trigger the motion sensor.
Real ip cameras will let you have more fine control of the sensitivity and threshold.
And they are cheaper than video doorbells…
Only problem with IP cameras is the power, the doorbells are battery powered so I can mount low down on garden wall or on the coop? And they are only £20 second hand, a battery powered IP cam are far more expensive ?
