Streamlining - How do you guys deal with "old" entities? Clean up HA for higher performance

How do you guys deal with the ever increasing list of entities? I have been running HA for a couple of years now. Moving from pi3 to p4 to proxmox and finally really pleased with my Unraid docker set-up.

During the years things change and a lot of new entities are created and deprecated (unused). I have been looking at Watchman for cleaning up some stuff, but wouldn’t it be nice if it would be possible to put entities in a “prepare for removal” (and disable it temporarily) state manually. Then after a certain amount of time and reboots when no errors occur it can be removed after all, without destroying stuff. If things get messed up you can turn them back on?

Maybe the functionality is already there, or you guys have some tips how to deal with this?
