Struggling with Zwave recently

Hiya,

I am struggling with ZWave recently. I would appreciate some advice if you guys/gals dont mind…

I was very (VERY) happy using my Gen 7 (700) AEOTEC stick on my HASS 2024.5.5 and Zwave JS0.4.4.
I know it was a few months dated, but it was really good (may it rest in peace!)

I had to upgrade to the latest version and then my problems started… everything seems very sluuuuuuugish and also random. sometimes it work well for several hours, then a few sensors (basically motion sensors) stop to update for a day, and then resume as normal.

I have not changed or added anything on the system (I had to upgrade to use ONECTA app via HACS) but this is nowhere near my Zwave setup. so I guess i change it… but that was it…

I do have a old gen5 stick from Aeotec laying around, which i could possible connect and port everything to the old gen5 stick, but i am not sure it will actually solve the problem. I dont remember (but can check if relevant) the firmware for the Gen7 stick, but i am pretty sure I am using the version which is recommended to be the better one (and as I said, it was working flawlessly until i upgrade HA).

So, I think my fundamental question would be:

Does anyone know a dedicated HUB I could use to replace the stick altogether and then could use to connect to HASS?

Should i go back to the Gen5 stick and if I do that, anyway i can save the config? Or should i reconnect everything from scratch?

thanks for any adivce / suggestions!

Have you tried the rebuild routes / reinterview node options?

I had some issues after an upgrade and the reinterview node fixed my issues.

HI,

thanks for the reply.
i tried to rebuild the routes, seems to have improved it slightly.

I will keep monitoring for the upcoming days.

thanks again!

so…

the rebuild route didnt work well in the end…
any ideas? any easy way to downgrade my Gen7 to a new (old) Gen5 controller without having to re-write/re-code all my automations?

any external HUB suggestion I could use to completely take Zwave control AWAY from HASS and just expose them via integration (while letting the dedicated HW to control the devices?)

cheers!
