Stubborn Scenes cannot be Deleted!

I have a handful of scenes that I need to delete and re-create. They were created in the UI so I deleted them in the UI. After I deleted them they were removed but then they CAME BACK after a restart. I tried to delete them again but the “DELETE” button is greyed out.

I was frustrated so then I edited my scenes.yaml file, deleted every scene inside that file and re-started, but all of the scenes are still there.

This has been like this for 2 weeks. Since then Ive cleared every browsers cache, restarted, shut down, I updated home assistant.

Some/most of these scenes are essentially just a wrapper for scripts so that I can operate a script using Alexa. I also deleted them from Alexa too.

No matter what I do they remain. Nothing I can find in the log file either.

These must be referenced elsewhere and perhaps just the blank file with a name remains somewhere, but I dont know where…

Ideas??

I have the same problem and this is the first result on duckduckgo. Does anyone know a solution for this?

Solution: if a scene in the settings cannot be deleted from the dropdown menu, then in the dropdown menu select “Show settings”. The popup has a delete button on the bottom left that works.
