Stuck "Loading Data". Failed to start journal service after a few days, needs hard reboot

So every few days I go to use HA and get stuck on the “loading data” screen. Its not accessible externally, so I plugin a screen and get the following:

Process 130 (systemd-journal) of user 0 dumped core.
INFO: task dockerd:512 blocked for more than 120 seconds
systemd[1]: Failed to start Journal Service.

If I try and reboot from a keyboard directly it tries to shut a bunch of stuff down and eventually fails, all I can really do is hard reboot (pull the power).

I’m on:
RPI4
Home Assistant 2023.2.1
Supervisor 2023.01.1
Operating System 9.5

Also I’ve installed it to a WD 2.5" SATA SSD. I haven’t tried it on another one as I only have the 1. Any ideas?

In which device are you running HA? Raspberry Pi (which model)? x86?

ah yes sorry, RPI4

Is there any way I can reliably tell if
a) its to do with the datadisk being on an external USB SSD
b) if its something to do with the power draw on that SSD?

For anyone that might find this useful in the future, it was power. I was trying to run an SSD, a Coral TPU, and a zigbee dongle from the on board USB. Got a powered USB hub and everything’s great

I have similar problems. How are things (keyboard, ssd, hub, monitir etc) connected to your RASPi 4?
