Stuck On creating backup for 5 hours

HI
I just updated to 16.2 yesterday, and it went fine, However overnight, my usual backup ran and it appears to be stuck

It has been running for 5 hours.

Looking at, it appears it created a local backup, plus one in google drive, but it isnt liking updating to nabu casa

Is there a way to cancel the backup

I went to reboot the whole system, but it doesn’t allow me

Its trying to upload

OK

So I went into the terminal and typed

ha core stop
then ha core start,

It restarted home assistant, and the backup now shows it failed.

I will do a check later. as I am going out, but just wondering what might have happened, nothing in the logs.

Hello obrien.craig

Sounds like you are out of space maybe.
If you have a lot less than half the disk available and try to do a backup, it won’t fit. The entire back-up is written to the drive as it compresses before it writes the file to wherever it goes (which likely also rakes up drive space) and then it deleted the temp file.
Also if you are using an SD card the fuller uit is the slower it goes.

NO issues with disk capacity, I have a 256gb ssd.
I just did a test automatic backups, and it was successful.

I have a theory, it looks like it backed up to my local drive/plus google drive successfully, but not nabu casa I did a manual backup before upgrading to 16.2 (but didn’t upload it), so I wonder if it has having issues uploading to nabu casa, since you can only have one copy in there.

I deleted the manual backup and it seems it worked. I guess I will monitor
It is weird, that you cant stop a hung/failing backup,
