In the HA app, it doesn’t detect the Green. The HA Green is hard wired to my router via ethernet. Instead of the app, I’ve tried to connect to the Green using my PC, which is also hard wired to my router via ethernet, but it also doesn’t work. I found the HA’s IP address using my internet provider’s app, and tried connecting to it in my PC’s browser: ‘http://HA_IP:8123’ as well as ‘http://homeassistant.local:8123’ and both display the same error - ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED.
I am so frustrated because I am not extremely tech-savvy and this device is supposed to be plug-and-play. Can someone please help me navigate this?
I disabled all possible firewalls on my PC and am still getting the same ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED message. Is there a firewall I should disable from my internet provider’s app or were you referring to my PC’s firewall?
Can you ping the IP you believe is the HA Green from your PC? Have you verified the IP is the Green by unplugging the ethernet and confirming a successful ping then fails?
Thanks for your response. What do you mean by ping? That’s not what I do when I go to ‘http://HA_IP:8123’ in my browser, is it? I’m positive I know the HA’s IP because in my list of connected devices on my Spectrum app, it says ‘Linux’ and ‘Home Assistant’. However, I don’t think I understand how to ping it as you described. Could you walk me through that?
If you can, try to attach a monitor or tv to the green to see what is going on.
If you have a pi-hole or adguard running, try turning it off. If your ruleset is too strict, HA might not be able to get the initial time from the time server, or is unable to pull the latest versions from Github.
