SUGGESTION: A list defining which hardware devices require, or do not require, a 3rd party cloud

I am relatively new to HA and IOT and very much enjoying the dive. Like our cell phone, our home is becoming the next frontier for big data collection, and I am trying to avoid these intruders from entering my home. I use DNS to access HA remotely and want to keep it simple that way.

It would be really helpful if a list was compiled and maintained defining which hardware devices require, or do not require, a 3rd party cloud.

Z-Wave devices to not need cloud I think some Zigbee devices too The Zigbee spec it too broad to assume compatibility.

I believe most all Wi-Fi devices use the cloud for control with mobile apps at a least.

All of the documents for HA components list this information (IoT class, top right hand of page). Feel free to summarise it.
