I have had home assistant set up for many years so most of my configuration was all in the yaml files. After upgrading to 2022.12.8 my instance started complaining that I did not have a country set. I clicked on the link which brought me to System > General page but it said that it was disabled because the config was stored in the configuration.yaml. I removed the values from my config file and set them all in the back end including the latitude and longitude.
After I made these updates, my sun-based automation no longer worked correctly. It would say above the horizon at midnight, so it seems that the system thinks I am someplace else even though I have my latitude and longitude set in the back-end locations. When I put the configuration back into the yaml, it lists the next sunset correctly so I am guessing my automation’s will work.
From this it looks like either the sun service is not getting the location correctly from the location editor in the back end or there is something else that needs to be set in the back end after removing it from the configuration that I am unaware of.
