Sun.Sun Update rate has chaged

I use the sun elevation from the sun.sun element to change the temperature on my hue lights. Basically when the sun start to drop below 5 degrees of angle, to -15 degress, I change from 6500k-2500k.

The sun element used to update every min or 30 secs, and so there was lots off small increments and the change was not noticeable, but a few updates ago they made the refresh slower…and it now makes those steps to big, and you can see a difference when the element changes. anyone know if I could speed this back up?

I guess as a worst case i could get a copy of the old sun.sun component and add that in a customer component?

yeah mate.

I used the code from the component from git and changed it so it updated more frequently. I can give it to you if you like.

why did they make that change? instead of making it update more often?what is the logic? is there a custom component that could be used?

It changed because the original option flooded the database with tiny updates. There’s a custom component option, but for most people the default integration works fine as it updates faster during the day than the night.
