Sunset/sunrise is very off target, how does Home Assistant determine my location?

As we’re approaching christmas, daylight duration is shorter every day. I’ve noticed the “sunset” event in home assistant is way off. I had configured my lights to turn on 2 hours before “sunset”, but within just a week, sunset is way earlier IRL but not in home assistant. I’ve read that Home Assistant uses my location to determine sunset/sunrise, but how can it determine my location? And if it actually can, why is it so off target?

You need to enter latitude, longitude and height in Home Assistant configuration.yaml Then it will be right on.

It determines your location from the elevation, latitude and longitude information you insert in configuration.yaml
