I wonder if the Sunrise/Sunset is using geolocation, because mine use seems to be off by a few minutes for both as compared to this site: Sunrise and sunset times in City of Midland, February 2023
Is there something that can take this into account?
Have my geolocation set.
Not sure what all is set in the default config that is called from the config yaml file.
The sunrise and sunset values are determined by the latitude, longitude, and elevation that you set in the System > General settings menu… If the site you referenced is not using those same data points, it should be expected that the two outputs will be different. There are also different calculations depending on whether or not you want to take refraction into account… I’m not sure if the Sun integration is with or without refraction.
Elevation 630 feet above sea level (192 meters) was the same as I could find in multiple references for our location. That was what was in the settings. I then check my address into a geo-location converters and got the same Latitude and Longitude coordinates with a slight variation in the 3rd through 12 decimal places. All restarts give the same results in HA Sunrise/Sunset.
Funny that if I go by the local airport (Willyweather for Midland, MI.) and look at their Sunrise/Sunset times it appears to be off by two days (ahead). Just off by 2 minutes. So who knows which one to believe???

I gave in the opening thread does take into account refraction
