Support Floodlight Control in Blink Add-on

So, I connected my new Blink Wired Floodlight up to Home Assistant only to discover that there is no floodlight on/off control exposed. I was hoping to be able to setup a physical smart switch to be able to control the on/off state of the floodlight for “normal” people. This also means that currently I’ll have to make sure the Blink phone app is installed on my wife’s phone for now until I can find some other solution.

Did you find a solution to this? I have the same issue.

No I still don’t have a solution. I haven’t had time to dig into the Blink add-on or APIs to see if there is a way to add this support. I’m finding that to a degree the Blink support in HA is rather sub-par as compared to like a Google Nest product. Not being able to view a live stream of the camera in HA and the image grab being only the latest photo that was manually taken in the Blink app proves to be sort of useless from an HA standpoint.

I’m sort of regretting my purchase at this point.

Alexa can turn the floodlight on and off. I was able to use an event from my Kwik door deadbolt through Home Assistant to Amazon to trigger the light to turn on. Not ideal but opening the deadbolt manually to leave the house in the morning turns the light on. I guess I could just tell Alexa to turn the light on but I don’t want to have to think about it. I just wish there was a control to keep the light off during the daytime, but sadly, there are no other features in Alexa.

Interesting, idea to use Alexa as a way to control it via HA. I’m sort of regretting my decision to go with Blink tbh, though I was hard pressed to find a device with similar hardwired features at the price I paid for it. I’ll probably keep my eye out for a device with similar specs that has better offline and direct integration with HA an look to spend the extra money on it some time in the future.

It’s been almost a year and I don’t see any other way to request this feature. I guess I can start digging into the code to find a way to add this support. I find it hard to believe that there isn’t enough need for this support.
