Willing to help troubleshoot… Bought this nvr because it was a good deal & I already had some drives… That being said, we love home assistant & really want the reolink nvr working. so much so that I’ll buy the 16 channel model if there are no plans to include support for the 36.
@bruce607 First of all, thanks for reporting this issue with the RLN36!
I would not know any reason why the RLN36 NVR, would not work.
That beeing sad, I have only programmed and tested with the RLN8 NVR, and have not gotten comformation from anyone yet that it works with RLN36 NVR, so I think this is a good oppertunity to get it working.
I might need to do some code changes to get it supported, we will see.
First of all, do you see any errors in the log when you try to set it up, and what error does the form show when you try to set it up?
Please post those in this thread.
If it is not a standard error, I will guide you through the steps of making a debug log.
I am back from my vacation so now I have some time to get the RLN36 fully supported.
I had already upgraded the nvr to the latest firmware, & had rebooted it multiple times to no avail, so I then created a new admin user on the nvr just for home assistant. note, I created just a regular admin, not a super admin, which is the default on the 36.
I then rebooted it & tried the setup using the newly created user.
Bingo!! Home assistant discovered my nvr & all the cameras!!
it has now been working for over a week with no issues!!
I appreciate you checking back & let me know if you need to see any logs etc!!
@bruce607 That is very intresting to hear.
My RLN8-410 does not offer such a “super admin”.
Could you please remove the reolink integration again, try to set it up using the “super admin” account again and post the error that is generated in the log here?
I think it is just a matter of adding the “super user” to the list of user privilages that are allowed for this integration, the super admin should have enough rights to do everything HomeAssistant needs.
But I would need to see the error to know how to resolve it.
