I am going to assume you are referring to ZHA, so I will address your question based on that.

Functions of individual ZHA devices are provided by the zigpy library as stated here:
Zigbee Home Automation - Home Assistant.
Requests for support for new hardware go in the zigpy github and not to Home Assistant.
