Switchbot lock & Fingerprint keypad - can the keypad be paired with HA and also why is the lock so slow to react when controlled by HA?

I’ve just acquired a Switchbot lock and the fingerprint keypad.

I actually ideally didn’t want to use the Switchbot Fingerprint keypad WITH the lock, as my door already has a fingerprint scanner on it. I wanted to repurpose the new SB fingerprint scanner elsewhere, but is that likely to be possible? Obviously using Home Assistant…

Secondly I’ve noticed that the control of the lock from Home Assistant is very slow. Takes seven seconds or so for it to react to a ‘lock’ command but ‘unlock’ seems to be instant.

I actually have a spare olimex ESP32-POE (not the ISO version) and was wondering if @bdraco had any thoughts on whether flashing it with the esphome bluetooth proxy yaml would help?

Finally a word of (slight) warning to others I guess - I initially created my switchbot account using the apple third party login but of course I couldn’t then link this to home assistant so had to delete and re-create and then recalibrate.

Thanks

You can always make a manual yaml file, but it likely has the same pin out as the ISO version. Just be care when flashing it to leave the ethernet not connected

Oh yeah totally fine with how to flash it. Just more whether you think it would help?

I have < 1s connect times with the ISO version. Make sure you disable any slow adapters as well

I also would be very interested in keypad support - It would be a great feature to actually see who unlocked the door and react to it!
