So I’ve been really interested in this project for a while but couldn’t find anything that confirmed it to be a legitimate or safe integration…until I browsed the beta release notes for the upcoming HA update. System bridge was specifically mentioned and documented here :
Brilliant…I felt safe enough to try it out. Unfortunately there seems to be a lack of any real documentation. I found the link to windows installer…installed and launched the app. Here’s my first problem.
Again lack of docs on how to use (no answers I could find in the github issues or in this forum). So I clicked the systray icon and clicked the “settings” option. Loads to a page cannot be found message. Same for the “logs” option. I opened the log text file and see nothing there that clues me to the issue…nada. I then ran the app as admin which did not help and so I uninstalled the app. Which lead me to my second problem.
This time I ran the install file as admin. The install went fine but I saw the same issues described above. However I was suddenly prompted by McAfee that the install file was a virus. I’m 95% sure this is a false positive but I’m not comfortable proceeding with the app until I receive confirmation that it is in fact safe. Only then would I feel comfortable with pursuing support on the 3rd party github issues page.
I reached out to the author and HA leadership via PM a couple of days ago, but I’m sure they are all busy with the upcoming release. My impatience led me to post here in the forum to see if any other HA/System Bridge users could provide feedback. Really interested in this new integration for a bunch of reasons so…
