I have a device (non-smart) that uses a tactile switch (tiny type) to trigger on and off. Any recommendation on making it smart? Just wondering what my options are to add a smart switch.

Hello, yes it’s designed to be pushed by a human finger.
I would use a optocoupler soldered across those terminals connected to an esp device running esphome.

Hopefully you should be able to use the tactile switch and the esp as alternatives, is they should both function
