Tado Climate Status Slow

Is it normal for the climate status (heat/off/auto) to take 3 minutes to get update in home assistant?
For example, I turn the thermostat off, but in HA it stays on heat for some time.

I’m also having this problem also with home mode and open window detection. I recently cancelled my tado subscriptions and i have noticed the delay afterwards. I don’t know if that is the reason or just a coincidence.

I am having this issue as well. Everything works ok, but just very very slow to update.

Okay, after digging around the forums and github (here and here) it seems that the API pooling rate has been increased from 15/30 seconds to 5 minutes, based on a request from Tado. As it is now, it sounds like the only way is to pool the data at an interval and not subscribe to changes, which is kind of sad. No one has/could explain how the tado app is polling/subscribing to the data, which is working more or less instance.

Edit:
Just took some test it looks like both the tado app and tado webinterface is polling with an interval of around 15 seconds, compared to HA with its 5 minutes poll interval.

And it seems like the Home Assistant tado documentation needs to be updated since the only interval it specifies is at most 30 seconds for presence detection.

It is super annoying and although I am no expert I can’t see how this polling time can’t be reduced a little as many addons using api’s simply mimic the OE app, so can or do tado in this instance even know it’s HA polling?

To get round this I have set up HA in such a way that we now only use HA to control tado and no longer use the tado app. That way when we change something it’s represented correctly in HA instantly.

Running into this as well. Makes Tado a lot less interesting to use in a HA setup…

My TADO integration values seem to be updating only every 15 minutes now :frowning:

Is there any way to decrease the polling interval again?

Can you elaborate on what you did exactly to get it to be instant?

I simply use home assistant to command temp or mode changes.

What problem are you trying to overcome, as for me the polling delay / times don’t cause me a single issue in real world use?
