I’m new to the HA system, and after a long searches I would like to ask whenever there is way to replicate the “idiot proof” way of configuring heating schedules like the one that is present in Tado companion app.
TL;DR
I’ve took the plunge on TADO, since we’ve got quite few rooms, and hand managing all the radiators and heating was an exhausting task. Yes I don’t like the fact that all my data goes to third party cloud and ultimately I’ve got no control over it. Also lack of window switches and no integration of third party switches / devices / thermostats etc is a negative - and this is where I was hoping to switch over to the HA.
However a large upside of tado is the polished and simple interface of managing heating, where one simply add and delete time blocks for room temperature setting.
So my goal is to replicate a simple interface inside of HA companion app that would allow (specially my elder father) to manage the heating, to their liking without writing code / confusing settings. I myself don’t mind hacking the code, but don’t want my kids to edit config files to get desired results.
Being able to see when the heating was on (per room) against a room temperature readout would be a large benefit.
ps. I don’t mind replacing all the radiator thermostats, that’s not the issue here. But before I’ll embark on such a task, I would like to have a polished interface that users can use without a hassle.
After reading few messages here and there about HA / tado, I seem to be a “Tado victim” - but hey, you live to learn.
