Hi everyone,
I’m new to the Home Assistant topic and, thanks to the Black Friday deals, I’ve decided to make my home a bit “smarter.”
I’ve now set up a fresh installation of Home Assistant and want to integrate my Tado X thermostats. However, I’m running into an error when trying to add the thermostat to my environment: “Device cannot be added.”
Here’s what my setup looks like:
- Tado Smart Radiator Thermostat X
- Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle Plus-E: “MultiPAN RCP” firmware
- With the following add-ons:
- Silicon Labs Multiprotocol
- Mosquitto broker
- Zigbee2MQTT
- Matter Server (6.6.1)
- Open Thread Border Router
The connection to Zigbee devices like my Hue lamps works without any issues. However, when I try to add the thermostat via the Home Assistant app and enter the Matter code, it takes some time, but eventually, I get the following error:
I’m not getting any useful logs from either the Matter Server or any other sources to help me track down the problem.
I have already read that issues can arise when using Multipan/Multiprotocol. However, since I’m new to this whole topic and don’t have too many devices yet, I thought I could save some money and use a single stick for both purposes for now, with the option to upgrade to a second stick later if needed.
I appreciate your help and am curious to see how this unfolds.
Feel free to reach out if you need any more information!
Thank you!
Luca
