Tailscale & remote access

I’m looking at Tailscale for remotely accessing HA, but I’m confused as to whether I just have to install the add-on or if I also have to install Tailscale itself via SSH/command line.

Just a follow-up on this

I created my Tailscale account, installed the Tailscale app on my phone and the integration.

It works perfect

I would appreciate any advice with using the Tailscale add-on and app.

Host OS: Debian 11
HA on vm: Home Assistant 2022.10.3, Supervisor 2022.10.0, Operating System 9.2
Network & router are ISP controlled with a CGNAT.

The Tailscale add-on is installed and running. I have setup an account at login.tailscale.com and installed the iPhone app. At login.tailscale.com the welcome page shows bothe HA and iphone are connected. I also have another device (server) connected.

The iphone connects to the server but when trying to connect to HA on Safari an error appears: “Safari cannot open the page because the network connection was lost.” I followed sever guides on how to fix the error on the iphone but none resolve the issue. I also tried to make the connection on Chrome without success: “This site can’t provide a secure connection. ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR”.

Thank you

I was able to sort out my issue by following the instructions at https://github.com/tsujamin/hass-addons/blob/0c4a977b91cf6f408f6566b74993d31f7c53149b/tailscale/DOCS.md.
