Tapo C200 Camera Control integration : credentials not working / refused

Hello,

I’m trying to use Tapo Camera Control for a C200.
The problem is that credentials are not working / are refused.

IP address is okay.
Credentials were created in the tapo app for the Camera user + password.
RTSP stream works fine in VLC.

Any ideas?
Thanks

You need to enable the extra login for developer access in the tapo app on your phone.

I can’t seem to find this option in the Tapo app

Hi, can you elaborate on this? I see no way to enable developer access in the app, even using the android method tapping firmware/build options etc in the Tapo app, and googling has not helped.

Remove cameras from you tapo account and recreate them again. Integration should work after that.

The same thing happens to me my mistake is when going to the password of tapo account does not go beyond this element:

There is a β€œnew” option in the tapo app. Settings β†’ Tapo Lab β†’ Third Party Compatibility β†’ Switch On.

It explicitly mentions home assistant as being supported when switching this on.

I just switched it on and the camera works now as intended. Before that I got the same login denied prompts.

And as mentioned earlier you need to setup a camera account not the tp-link account.

Camera account: In the tapo app goto the camera β†’ manage β†’ settings wheel β†’ advanced settings β†’ camera account

This works for the C200 cameras. Still no luck with the C420 cameras :frowning:
