Seems to be a capable (nice selection of different type devices), efficient (868 / 922 mhz) and well build (made by TP-link) platform, value seems to be decent too.
I could not find any information about progress in it being supported by Home Assistant, could be nice to have some progress?
As I understand your link is for devices connected directly to internet via wifi / ethernet, devices aforementioned above require an extra device (hub) to connect to internet because of operating over sub-gigahertz frequencies.
I could manage to add a Tapo Temperature/Humidity sensor (T315) through the Tapo H100 Hub only by integrating my SmartThings account to Home Assistant. Works perfect now.
The below Tapo Controller integration can only manage my Tapo smart plugs (P100 and P115)
I was not able to add in the Tapo Smart Button (S200B) to HA yet, but I don’t see if it would be useful under HA anyway.
Has anyone found a way to have home assistant be able to read the sensor data from the Tapo T315? I can see the smart hub it connects to in my device list but it doesn’t show any of the connected devices, I seem to be able to only add Tapo devices that are directly connected to my network
I also purchased the Smart Buttons because they are cool and having rotating capabilities opens many possibilities, but without HASS integration the best I could do was to make it work through an Alexa routine but its quite slow anyways… but no way to integrate them in HA yet
Hi, first step you should link your Tapo account to SmartThings , then install the SmartThings integration to HASS.
HASS will pick up all smart bulbs and plugs, together with the Tapo thermometer.
This is not working with the Tapo motion sensor unfortunately, I’m still looking for a way to try integrate this latter, or just simply looking for a different brand…
I am trying to use the S220 double switch with a hub. I have the integration installed and can see and control various Tapo plugs, I can also see the hub and the S220 switch. However, the only entity I can see for the switch is the battery low binary_sensor.
I am running
Tapo integration 2.12.2
2023.12.3
Supervisor
2023.12.0
Operating System
11.2
Frontend
20231208.2
When I look in the code, it is possible that the S220 is not supported.
