Hi ! Got 9 Tapo L630 in my home, I only use Tapo app, and 1, and only 1, of my lights update to 1.4.2… don’t know why… The others say “up to date”… same pack… Functions, like “Automatic compensation” changed (now it’s Biorythm), so some of my automations don’t work anymore…
But the one on 1.4.2 is still online in Home Assistant ?
I don’t use HomeAssistant (yet), but fonctions gone wrong or desapeared in other apps like SmartThings.
Sorry if my comments doesn’t help you.
But “funfact”, Tapo doesn’t speak anywhere of this update on their site… it seams, it doesn’t exist…
Hey,
Looks I have similar issue... Got 6x L630, 4x of them on old firmware, 2x updated to 1.4.2 and two of them stopped working(3rd in the queue to update, luckily I was able to turn it off).
This is the changelog I was able to pull out...
Official answer :
Home Assistant is not an officially supported third‑party platform. New firmware releases sometimes include security fixes and updates, and if third‑party platforms don’t integrate these changes, connection issues can occur , this is a common situation with unofficial integrations.
There is a Third-Party Compatibility feature in the Tapo app. You can try enabling it before linking with Home Assistant to see if that helps. However, please note that enabling this option may introduce security risks and does not guarantee compatibility with unofficial third‑party platforms.
You can put them to the trash.
Tapo is a terrible brand. Wait for new Shelly GU10 gen3 products.
