Tapo motion sensor

Hello. I have configured a tapo cam with Tapo integration. But the motion sensor doesn’t work. But the notifications come to the TAPO app. I followed the guide. I checked that:

Make sure the camera has motion detection turned on
Make sure the camera has privacy mode turned off
Make sure the camera can see you and your movement
Try walking in front of the camera
If above didn’t work, restart the camera and try again

And in the registry I don’t find any activity for this entity.
I noticed that in the list of entities I find the “Restored” symbol on the sensor line. What does this mean?

Thanks

Hi, get anywhere with this?

We’ve got a C70 which has no binary_sensor for motion appearing from the tapo camera control integration. C100 cam motion works fine.

Hi, did you find a solution?

Anyone?

I wanted to automate a motion detection with a link to HA instead of getting the Cloud Message from tapo

Hello, any news regarding the motion sensor entity in home assistant? I’d like to buy a Tapo Cam but only if home assistant retrieves the motion detection.

I recently purchased couple of Tapo C120 cameras (they are cheap on Amazon). From whatever I researched, Tapo cameras do not work natively with HA. There is a third party integration but it has stopped working after Tapo made changes to their cloud password. You can read about it here:

JurajNyiri/HomeAssistant-Tapo-Control: Control for Tapo cameras as a Home Assistant component (github.com)

If this is the integration you are planning on using, then you will have to use the workaround provided by the developer. I cannot confirm whether it will work or not as I did not use it.

Thank you so much for your fast answer!
I just cancelled my amazon order, in extremis. I don’t want to spend time on tweaking a new camera brand, I have enough work with my current ones.
