I’ve got a similar issue with the same connection error, on my P100.
The device was also working fine for a long time, then home assistant suddenly stopped seeing it a couple of months ago, and now I can’t reconnect either.
I didn’t make any changes to my tapo app, or update any firmware on the TP-Link side.
It’s likely I upgraded my HA version in between when it was working and now, but I’m not sure if that’s just a coincidence.
Edit: I ended up doing a combination of resetting and re-adding the device to tapo app, as well as disabling and re-enabling third party access via the tapo app, and was able to have HA successfully find and connect to the device again
I had the same problem and I was able to solve it.
Turning third-party compatibility off and on solved it, but wait 5-10sec before enabling it again.
After that a waited 30sec and then TP-Link Smart Home did find my P110 by leaving the host empty.
I just updated HA core and OS a few hours ago and one of the Tapo Smart bulbs was not working. I initially had it "third-party compatibility" off on the Tapo App and now I turned it On and it seems to work.
For anyone looking for that option on the App (I use Android)
On the main screen, click "Me" on the bottom right -> scroll down to "Services" then "Third- Party Services" > then toggle the "third-party compatibility" option at the bottom.
Thanks. I need to do this as well. Strangely enough only one of my Tapo L900 LED strips started playing up. The other identical one didn't give a problem in HA. And indeed both worked fine with the Tapo app.
