Target temperature vs min and max temperature

Is there any common relationship between the target temperature and min/max temperatures? Or they just are valid for different maintenance modes?

My smart TRVs allow setting all those values. But I’m scrapping my head on how to use that.
The TRVs are those once: Moes BRT-100-TRV control via MQTT | Zigbee2MQTT but I hope the answer can be independent from the particular piece of hardware.

Anyway this TRV opens its valve gradually (reported in 25% steps). Not sure if min/max temps affects its PID.
