Tasmota devices not working

Just after the last update came out I was on holiday, so did not apply it until yesterday. When it got dark I went to turn on the lights in one room and they did not work.

Turns out that I can no longer control any tasmota device from within HA. I can happily control them from their own Web page (and from within TasmoAdmin) none of them are available in HA. Any ideas what happened and how I can put it right? I’ve tried updating firmware on a couple of devices incase the older one was causing the issue but they still stay unavailable.

Have you given the whole thing a restart just to make sure you are starting from a level playing field?

Hi Trevor Baxter,

I would go here and reboot the host… Check that the config check passes first just in case.

Open your Home Assistant instance and show hardware information.

Yep, first thing I did (I work in IT ;-))

It is really weird they just do not seem to want to connect.

In the Tasmota Webconsole, try

setoption19 0

if that does not work, show the Tasmota logs for one (from the Webconsole)

It seems to be a login issue with tasmota not being able to connect to the MQTT server and I cannot work out why.

It had an MQTT username and password set, but I can find no reference to those on the HA server. It may be something set up all those years ago that just got depreciated?

I have tried setting up a new HomeAssistant person for logging in to it. I verified that by re-configuring the MQTT integration using this new name and password. Still though the console is reporting connect fail when I put these new values in Tasmota.

What version of Tasmota are they on ?

Hi Trevor Baxter,

Look in the MQTT Addon config for a password and login.

Thank you all working now. The challenge was that it could not route to the MQTT router. Once that was fixed it started to work correctly  Thanks for all the help.
