Tasmota RF bridge and RM433 remote to control light brightness

Hello,

Long time reader, first time poster. I have a Sonoff rf bridge running tasmota and the Sonoff RM433 remote.

The problem I have is I’m trying to configure two of the buttons to increase/decrease brightness, however the bridge will only pick up button presses 2-3 seconds apart.

I.e. if I click “increase” twice, say 1 sec apart, the bridge will only pick up the first click and ignore the second click. So although I’m able to increase/decrease the brightness of the lamp, the missed clicks make it quite jerky experience.

I have tried to play around with SetOptions1-11-13 but no luck so far.

Any ideas if/how the RM433 can be used for multipress/long press/“quick press” actions?

Thanks in advance!

Oz

I had the same issue with my Sonoff RF Bridge 433 and decided to switch to ESPHome.
This move have solved that delay issue I had.

Thanks @WallyR, I’ll have a look at migrating to ESPHome. Out of interest, was the delay you experienced related with the rm433 remote? And do you see other benefits with ESPHome over Tasmota?

It was indeed related to the rm433 remote.
If I turned on the wrong light and wanted to turn it off again, then I had to wait a few seconds.
It was not much, but enough to annoy me.

I like that it is now the ESPHome/HA documentation I now have to look at and not the Tasmota and then HA, but other than that it does not do much difference.
