Ive got 5 smart sockets now at home that have all failed. A Gosund one, some localbytes ones and one no name one…
They all seem to go the same way…everything works but the actual procedure of switching the power on and off doesnt…in that i can see the toggle on screen working but i cant hear the relay clicking…as i say everything appears to work…(even updated the software on all of them) but no actual power flow…
Just seems unusual they are all going the same way…
Maybe the relay contacts “stick” because they are too weak to bear the current actually flowing through them?
In this case the “smart” part believes everything is working as expected, but the relay is failing.
Did you try to change one of the relays with a higher quality one?
I wish i could - i might be assuming this but i thought they were sealed shut…if i could get them apart then i could easily do that as my soldering skills are not too bad…the (smart adapters in general) do strike me as “youre going to smash this to pieces trying to get in to it”!
