TellStick / Telldus Live, door/window sensor slow/not working

Hello!

I just added two door/window sensors. They are from Proove and Nexa. They work as expected in Telldus Live and if I open a door with a sensor, I can see that it immediately switches state from off to on.

But in HA, the devices (switch.room1_door, switch.room2_door) don’t change state the same way. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t. I have experienced that it was really fast a couple of times, just seconds. But sometimes not at all.

How does this communication work? Is HA polling an Telldus API for these changes? How often is this poll performed?

Yes, you are right. This is because HA is polling the server for updates. This is a known limitation in the current implementation and the Telldus API.

I solved this by switching to Z-wave :slight_smile: (usb-stick in HA server)
