Temperature and humidity sensor with probe - recommendations?

I’m looking for a temperature and humidity sensor that has an external probe, to monitor conditions for two whites tree frogs. I’d prefer something supporting LAN access rather than cloud. I’m currently using an Aqara Xiaomi temperature & humidity Sensor sensor inside the metal enclosure, but it disconnects periodically (probably due to poor signal). I suspect something external with a probe inside the enclosure would work much better.

Any recommendations? Thanks in advance.

If you could do something DIY then an ESP module (ESP8266 nodemcu would be fine) along with a BME280 temp & humidity sensor. Flash it with ESPHome and it will easily work with HA.
