Hi there!
I am looking for a sensor that can be connected to a ethernet switch right away. I’ve been looking for it in the web, but I could not find anything.
My problem is that I cannot use wifi to connect the devices to my Home Assistant, that’s why it has to be wired (up to 150 ft).
Thank you very much for your help!
Hi, are you looking for a DIY solution or out of the box?
For DIY maybe you could use something like this as a starting point:
Out of the Box, maybe somethin like that?

(sorry, text is in german, but I hope google translate can help
)
But I don’t have any experience with them…

The DIY solution is the one I was looking for. I didn’t realize I could use the Arduino for that.
Thanks a lot.

Keystudio builts an Uno formfactor board which is basically an Uno with integrated Ethernet shield.

Great for stuff like this to avoid having to use another shield or wire an Ethernet interface to a Nano.
About $20 on eBay.

I have used this to track hot water system temps on a Pi Zero. Could be modified maybe?
