Templates can get complex, and require the use of yaml Jinja python, which isn’t very approachable to the average Joe.
Similar to how we already share “automation blueprints”, it should be possible to share “template blueprints”.
Sample use case here ties together a switch and a contact sensor into a garage door cover

This feature is already in the works, however it’s not a quick change. Closing this, but understand the feature will exist.
