Test HA without internet

Hi i have HAOS isntalled on a mini pc and wired with a ethernet cable to the router. I also have a zigbee network on a sonoff dongle and the aqara fp2 presence sensor integrated locally with homekit. I recently tested the automations unplugging the ethernet cable from the mini pc, but the automations were not working anymore. I dont know if it was because the fp2 sensors, or the zigbee network stopped working. How can i test it, or how do i “activate” the offline mode. Sorry for the dumb question.

They have to disconnect the internet from the router.
Not the cable from the router to the HA

In avoidance of XY, what exactly stopped working? It sounds like something stopped an automation from triggering? As far as I understand it, both the FP2 and any Zigbee kit do not rely on an internet connection, so a lack of one should not impact their ability to trigger automations. Are you able to share any YAML?

Separately, it is good to test what happens when your broadband goes down. Many routers allow you to block devices in their software, or, as @pepe59 says, you can just unplug the cable.

Isn’t Aqara FP2 a WiFi sensor?
So if you unplugged the Ethernet cable from the HA server, then you essentially unplugged the HA server from the WiFi access point too and therefore from the Aqara FP2.

So pepe59 is correct!

Ok thanks that sounds reasonable.
