We (38/39,m/f) took in 3 of my sister-in-law’s kids for a school year. They’re aged 6,9,11. They haven’t been schooled in 3-4 years, have no bedtimes, etc.
With Home Assistant and Unifi, I could get devices offline and the internet down at the correct times. Yes, yes, I know, sitting them down and being a “parent,” but we were kind of thrown into this. Something as simple as the media controller on a wall-mounted tablet to just turn down the volume was perfect.
The eldest 11 is now getting interested in how I did this, so that is a positive, even if it’s to take the entire network down so he can play Xbox it’s progress.
